3. Student Leadership Academy: Preparing Your Personal Branding and Elevator Pitch

Thursday, April 15 | 1:30-3:45pm

Now that you’ve decided managed care pharmacy is likely a good career path for you, it’s time to market and brand yourself! Your personal brand gives you the opportunity to sell yourself and develop a professional identity. Regardless of your career path, personal branding is the way people perceive you and helps shape their views on your characteristics, abilities and skills. Branding includes components such as a resume, a cover letter and an elevator pitch, which is the focus of our session. An elevator pitch is a short persuasive speech, typically 30 seconds or less, that is used to spark interest. This student session will give you the essential tools to create your personal brand as well as provide you the structure to develop an effective elevator pitch.

  • Determine your role in the managed care pharmacy field along with your aspirations for the coming years
  • Share your experiences to gain a better understanding of your personal brand
  • Obtain a working knowledge of the process of constructing and delivering an elevator pitch

Speaker:
Anne Libby, Ph.D.
Professor and Vice Chair for Academic Affairs
University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus | Department of Emergency Medicine

The Student Leadership Academy will be open to all students during AMCP2021. This event provides student members with an opportunity to learn about professional development skills and learn from their peers on successful events at their schools.
